Sherlock Holmes His Last Bow: Part 1 The Adventure of Wisteria Lodge:The Singular Experience of Mr. John Scott Eccles (p1019-1030)

This book is one of Doyle's short story books. Part one begins with a man named John Scott Eccles who went to Holmes' apartment to discuss something. But when he showed up, so did Inspector Gregson and Inspector Baynes. They wanted a statement from Eccles because a man who was killed the night before had a note saying that Eccles would be at his house. He had no idea that Garcia was killed and said that he was at his renting house and when he woke up, there were no servants or even Garcia in site. The last time he saw him was one o'clock the night before. Eccles also said that Garcia was being distracted by something and his mood became darker when a servant handed him a note. So, when he woke up the next day, he decided to leave and found out that his stay was payed for. Holmes deduced that Garcia set the clocks to get Eccles to sleep earlier so he thought it was one o'clock which was the time of Garcia's death. From all the information given, Holmes found out that the murderer lived next to Wisteria Lodge (where Eccles was staying) in a big house.
